Thank you for your RSVP. Looks like we will have good weather. If you need directions on how to get here, please let me know. As we all know, the swine flu is particularly hard on pregnant women and infants, so if you think there is a chance you may have been exposed or actually are feeling sick, thanks for considering Jane and her baby and bowing out for the day. In any case, we'll take precautions, foregoing hugs and kisses and making use of the antibacterial gels I'll have handy. Foregoing hugs and kisses isn't our style, is it?! But I'm sure you'll agree that this makes sense at this time. So looking forward to being with you to celebrate Jane and Joe's creation!
I've mentioned my love of haikus and my use of them to relieve stress/make light of stressful situations, and I came across a few that I had jotted down on napkins. The beauty is in the humor, but you may have had to be there.

I feel the siren's song of Etsy. Yikes! I'm trying to just window shop, but don't know if I can maintian.
That said, my mom has opened an Etsy shop and made her first sale and custom order request yesterday!! We will be re-doing her photos b/c they don't do her work justice, but if you like quality hand-painted items check it out. She pours, paints and fires all of her work. She will have some amazing holiday stuff, but for now a small sampling of wares.
Last week I had a busy Thursday evening. I went out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants for yummy Italian anticipating/hoping to run into the performers of Lullaby Moon. According to their site: "Lullaby Moon is a year-long invitation to Seattle to explore a world of dream. A celebration of the night sky, the series of performance events brings bedtime whimsy and wonder to parks and other public spaces throughout the city, enlivening and enlightening the dark time of each month." Usually, the performances are in one place and held at dusk- there is a magical blue tinge to the evening (I only know from pictures b/c I found out about this even only this summer and missed the few I've tried to attend). This month, however, they were in smaller groups parading down the sidewalk downtown. It was definitely endearing, but not as enchanting as the other performances looked to be. But, I only saw the first portion of the performance and not the end where apparently they gathered for a bit.
After feeling lucky to have caught a bit of the performance, I cut over to the Paramount to see The Dead Weather perform. I love Alison Mossheart from The Kills so this was an awesome treat for me. There are well respected members of other bands in the mix too, but I only was really there to see her perform and she didn't let me down at all. It was a fun show-just rockin' out--no need for weird chit-chat and such.
Whee! Oh, how could I resist these uber-cute items? I bought the kitty for my daughter's bday but this little white turnip (?) is for me. Not that I needed it, but my soul needed it. Sereneonion made them and she sent them with a sweet little note.
These cute little guys from cuteoverload are SO stinkin' cute! They are stinking up your monitor with their cuteness. I love the guy in the background "Am i late for the posing?" and third dude is like "You snooze, you loose!"
This enchanting event has been happening for almost a year on each new moon around the city. I'm sorry to say I've missed every one of them and will likely miss this month's. Luckily, a friend video taped July's performance. This monthly happening celebrates the night sky interpreted as a dream. Find out more about this project here.
